Porsche 718 LWB seat riser brackets (CFRP)

Overview

These brackets can be fitted to Porsche 718 models equipped with LWB light-weight bucket seats to add approximately 6 degrees of additional recline. This dramatically improves ergonomics, especially when wearing a helmet.

Our design achieves this whilst also addressing the design shortfalls of a popular existing market option. By preserving the factory seat leg spacing, our design greatly simplifies installation and eliminates undue stresses on both the brackets and the seat frame assembly.

Note: The extra recline makes it possible for the seat and seat assembly to interfere with the roll cage and seat rails respectively. Please take care to not operate the seat adjustments in a way that will cause damage to the seat, seat assembly, seat rails or the roll cage.

Construction

The brackets are printed from carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) and strength-tested by LMATS to survive over 12G of lateral loading, which represents the part's weakest direction. In practice, given the flexibility of crash structures and seat arms/rails, this would equate to a whole vehicle loading far higher.

Several processes have been applied to each production phase before, during and after printing to ensure that each part meets the strict criteria required for strength and accuracy.
